Fleet Reserve Association Essay Contest - FRA's Americanism Essay Contest is open to all 7th - 12th graders. Applicants must write a 350-word essay entitled "The Bill of Rights and Me." Local winners will be subsequently forwarded to the regional and national contests for a chance to win a $5,000, $2,500, $1,500 or $1,000 scholarship. Rules, cover sheet, and additional information can be found at www.fra.org/essay.
Deadline to enter is December 1, 2020
 
Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship -Comcast NBCUniversal anticipates awarding over 800 scholarships for the 2019 – 2020 school year. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Furthermore, a select number of awardees will be chosen as recipients of a Founder’s Award. These scholarship winners will receive awards in excess of $2,500. The Comcast Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors for their community service, academic performance and leadership skills. Lynn Jensen Memorial Scholarship - The Lynn Jensen Memorial Scholarship application is now open! The scholarship, worth $1000, is open to any Utah high school senior who plans to attend college. Learn more and apply here: http://www.utschoolcounselor.org/.  Deadline:  December 8, 2018.
 
Free Speech Essay Contest - One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays.  Four $500 winners will also be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing.  Current Juniors and Seniors are eligible to participate in FIRE's essay contest.  To enter, students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the assigned topic.  For more details and to enter, go to www.thefire.org/contest
