The CTE Internship course offers students practical experience in their chosen field of interest. It runs for a semester on A or B days during the last two periods. Early in the semester, students participate in classroom sessions to enhance employability skills, including professionalism and creating a LinkedIn profile.
Students spend most of the semester at their chosen internship site, completing a minimum of 40 hours of work. They must attend one monthly class session during their internship and have 1 to 2 weeks of wrap-up classes at the end. Prerequisites include being a junior or senior, completing two to three relevant classes, and submitting a resume in the required format. Some internships require an interview.
This program provides students with an excellent opportunity to explore career options and interests, gain practical experience, and connect with a mentor who can guide them throughout their journey.
*Please note that transportation to and from the internship site is the student's responsibility. However, bus transportation to and from the JATC for class days will be provided.
