SLCC Engineering Technology Certificate Program
The SLCC Engineering Technology Certificate is a industry certification put out by Salt Lake Community College. It is possible to obtain the certificate as a high school student, but it is the college that awards the certificate after the completion of their requirements.
SLCC Program Description
Engineering Design/Drafting Technology is a profession that encompasses a variety of engineering disciplines that are always in high demand: mechanical, civil, piping, electronics, structural, and industrial. Students develop skills in technical drafting, CAD (Computer Aided Design), and the drafting practices specific to each of these discipline areas. Drafters and designers are an integral part of a project team in every field, developing the drawings and designs for fabrication and construction.
How to get the certificate
To fulfill SLCC requirements, students must take three college classes at their home high school or online as well as three JATC programs (Mechanical, Technician, and Robotics). Completing all these requirements requires planning and it is recommended to start as a Sophomore. See detail and recommended scheduling below.
