Program Description:

The primary purpose of the nail technology course is to train the student in the practical skills, safety, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain competency and licensure for a successful career in Nails.

 

JATC Nail Technology offers a training program that includes natural nail care, manicures, and pedicures, infection control, acrylic, gel and wrap enhancements, nail art, general anatomy, product chemistry, life skills, law, and rules, seeking employment and communicating success in the exciting world of nail technology.

 

Program Expectations:
This course is a year-long competency-based class requiring attendance and grades to license with the State of Utah.  In order to be successful in the class the student should maintain at least 85% attendance and 80% grades.  Effective communication and the ability to understand the client's description of nail services are necessary.  Professional dress, personal hygiene, and a positive attitude are required.  Students must have the ability to touch other people's hands and feet.  Students will experience a salon environment while performing services on clients from the public.
