Program Description:

The Welding Technician program at Jordan Academy for Technology & Careers is a two year program that will prepare students for a career in the welding industry, an allied trade, or to further their education in welding or a related field at a college or university.  Details of the two program courses are provided below.

These courses provide current enrolment (CE) credit through Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). These credits, and other student progress is transferable to Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) and other post-secondary schools across Utah.  Enrolled students must apply for CE admission as soon as possible.  Students need to be admitted to SLCC CE, and have their profile & academic plan completed before the start of school on August 19, 2025.  Refer to the Concurrent Enrollment Guide to the right for more information on how to apply.

SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is an integral part of the Welding Technician program at Jordan Academy.  Students will participate in lessons and meetings during class to build their personal confidence, premier leadership, and career success skills.  Students will be encouraged to go beyond class time with SkillsUSA participation by serving in a leadership position and/or competing in one of the many welding and leadership contests that are available to them.

Students that are successful at the state contests will have the opportunity to represent the state of Utah at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, GA in June.
